remembering old eras of TWICE~

한국어 日本語

when i first started listening to twice, the concept was cute. the music had a sweet, cute and upbeat feel. the girls would often sing too high for their vocal range in this period, i believe momo had it the worst, sorry bout it. 2015-18 twice forever holds a special place in my heart that nothing or nobody else could fill. summer nights was the soundtrack to my 2018, twicecoaster lane 1/2, twicetagram...

the twicetagram era also saw twice embarking on successful concert tours and appearing in various television shows and variety programs, further solidifying their status as one of the leading girl groups in the industry. their charming personalities and engaging performances made fans adore them, and their influence continued to grow during this era.. the twicetagram era marked a significant turning point for twice, showcasing their musical growth, unique charm, and their ability to connect with a wide audience. it remains a beloved era for fans and serves as a testament to twice's enduring popularity and success in the k-pop industry. jyp officially killed off the cute concept in 2019, which was more than devastating to me. after this point, literally every girl group was moving from cute to girlcrush concepts. i get that they are growing up and probably want a more mature style, but still. sucks for the cute concept fans... i don't think there will ever be another time where this concept comes back into style, even if it did, it wouldn't feel the same as the 2010s did. these cute concept eras had a special feeling that cannot be replicated.

when the mature/girlcrush concepts started to become popular, in my opinion the music became predictable, more boring, but that's just my opinion and i am biased. twice became successful and known for their cute, girly and cheerful concepts. ONCE adored sana in cheer up, her stupid aegyo won over so many fans. however, as times change, so do the trends and styles of music... if i could pick my favourite era of twice it would be when twicetagram came out, autumn 2017. as i have a handful of eras i love, second place goes to summer nights for being the era which solidified my obsession with twice. this album never gets old. it's one of those albums that define a point in your life, for me it was the summer of 2018. not to blogpost, but this was the worst time in my life. the cute and happy music of twice was a huge distraction for me, i would listen to feel happy even just for a couple minutes.
